Da Nang's attractive night-time tourism seen rebounding

Da Nang's night-time tourism activities are recording bustling vibes. Tourist streets such as An Thuong and My An, Bach Dang promenade and Love Bock Bridge have been lit up and attracted locals and visitors.

‘Waking up’ night-time tourism

Taking relaxing strolls along Da Nang beaches, especially the section near the intersection of Nguyen Van Thoai and Vo Nguyen Giap streets, visitors can easily encounter the romantic scene of the Tropical Palm Food&Nail Spa. Dang Hoang Nhu Y, the owner of the shop, said that, with a strong desire to bring visitors refreshment and relaxation right on the Da Nang beach, she boldly invested in developing new models and products here to serve local dwellers and domestic and international visitors.

Accordingly, after a day of traveling, sightseeing around the city, visitors can visit the beach to relax, have their feet, shoulders and nape massaged or soak their feet in herbs besides enjoying a glass of cool water.

“Recently, the services at the Da Nang beach have changed in an attractive direction, meeting the travel needs of tourists such as massage, dining, watching movies. With the change in the way of doing things as well as the direction of bringing experience services for tourists with a variety of activities, I believe that tourists will be satisfied when traveling and using the services here.”, said Ms. Nhu Y.

Also taking advantage of the rebounding tourism activities, the Danabeach beach entertainment and sports complex, located on Vo Nguyen Giap Street, Ngu Hanh Son District is gradually becoming a highly inviting venue fpor many locals and tourists, especially young ones. There are many services such as dining, karaoke and a check-in area with colorful chairs and parasols as well as outdoor music programmes, attracting a large number of visitors.

Mr. Nguyen Anh Minh, the Director of the Que Viet Joint Stock Company, said that, although the COVID-19 impact caused many difficulties for businesses, the company still focused on renewing its relaxation and entertainment site to better serve visitors at the beach at night.

More products and services making their debuts

Head of the Management Board of Son Tra Peninsula and Da Nang Tourist Beaches Nguyen Duc Vu said that the ‘Pilot organisation of nightlife entertainment activities at the My An Beach’ plan was approved by the municipal People's Committee in 2021.

Accordingly, the pilot plan aimed to form night-time tourism services at the My An beach, connecting with An Thuong tourist quarter in My An Ward, Ngu Hanh Son District to develop the night-time economy according to the city's scheme. Night-time activities are now restarting. Currently, the Management Board is setting up outdoor event stages and movie screening services on the beach and preparing the opening of the My An night beach programme scheduled for April 30.

In addition, a number of services such as: mobile cars selling fast food, therapeutic massage services on the beach, areas for arranging baskets, surfboards, antique boats and swings for visitors to take photos have been put into operation since March 15.

These activities, in connection with the beach services of the Holiday Beach and Dana Beach sites, form a chain of sea entertainment services, and along with the An Thuong nightlife quarter, they help create a vibrant My An - An Thuong daytime and nighttime tourist complex.

A series of residential roads in the An Thuong tourist quarter are being upgraded into walking streets in order to meet the growing entertainment needs of people and tourists in the coming time. As planned, existing overhead power and telecommunications cables will be put underground along such major streets as Tran Bach Dang, An Thuong 2, Hoang Ke Viem, and Ngo Thi Si.

Also along these streets, current drainage systems will be upgraded, whilst lamp posts combined with phone chargers will be replaced with aesthetic ones.

The upgrade work will include embellishing green spaces, installing surveillance cameras and public wifi transmitters, opening 2m-wide parking bays along the sidewalk in front of public land lots on Ngo Thi Si Street, and replacing block bricks along the pavement of Hoang Ke Viem Street with bazan stones.

Deputy Director of the Department of Tourism Tan Van Vuong said that the Department has asked relevant agencies to develop new products in terms of cultural and entertainment activities, and public performing arts, especially install street art works to create cultural highlights and attract tourists at the An Thuong tourist quarter.

At the same time, heed will be paid to continuously advising the formation of streets specialising in seafood and culinary products combined with music spaces at coastal restaurants, bars, pubs and hotels at the An Thuong tourist area.

At the same time, a number of routes will be selected to be decorate with the artistic murals to create highlights in these areas.

According to Mr. Vuong, in addition to activities by the sea, cultural and art activities on the both sides of the Han River with the programme of Street Music and Street Dance, the Son Tra Night Market and the ‘dragon’ breathing fire and squirting water at the eastern end of the Rong (Dragon) Bridge are operating again to serve visitors.

To continue developing nigh-time tourism products in the city, the municipal Department of Tourism in collaboration with the Hai Chau and Son Tra district –level authorities to study a pilot plan to organize night-time tourism services on a section of Bach Dang Street from the APEC Statue Garden Park to Nguyen Van Troi Bridge and a park at the western end of Nguyen Van Troi Bridge.

The Project Management Board of Investment and Construction of Traffic Works is proposing the implementation of Phase 2 of the Bach Dang - Nguyen Van Troi - Tran Hung Dao Walking Street project.
