In his remarks at a working session on Wednesday to review the preparatory works for the upcoming Routes Asia 2022, Da Nang People's Committee Vice Chairman Tran Phuoc Son urged relevant units to closely work with the Informa Routes Company to update information about Da Nang and participants on the Routes Asia 2022 website and international media channels, and ensure successful organisation of exhibitions and the ‘Da Nang - A potential destination in Asia’ forum.

Vice Chairman Son suggested that the Duy Anh Trading Joint Stock Company (IPP Travel Retail) should mobilise donations for the Routes Asia 2022.

The Da Nang Investment Promotion and Support Board was asked to coordinate with the Informa Routes Company to prepare for the content and the number of guests for the ‘Da Nang - A potential destination in Asia’ forum.

The municipal Department of Tourism was urged to cooperate with the municipal Department of Culture and Sports, the Department of Industry and Trade, and photography associations, business associations, and the Centre for Culture and Cinema to introduce the city’s typical products, and beautiful pictures and paintings about the city in the space map of the city’s Exhibition and Conference Centre.

The border police and the Da Nang International Airport were directed to work with the municipal Department of Health to arrange priority medical declaration and entry ways for international guests.

The municipal Department of Industry and Trade was responsible for completing the design of a booth displaying OCOP products at the Da Nang Exhibition and Conference Centre, as well as coordinating with the Department of Tourism to confirm the design and overall scheme of the event with Informa Routes Company.

Vice Chairman of the Da Nang People's Committee Tran Phuoc Son expressed his hope that the event would be held successfully in Da Nang, thereby contributing to opening up a big opportunity for the city to promote its images to foreign countries around the world as well as to boost cooperative ties with aviation firms globally in the coming time.

The 16th edition of Routes Asia, the first of its kind in Viet Nam, will take place in Da Nang from June 4 - 9.

This year’s event is expected to attract around 500 delegates who are representatives of airlines in Asia, Europe, the Middle East and North America; airports and airport operators; and air service providers and travel agencies from Asia and countries around the world.

Routes Asia 2022 will feature a total 19 major and support activities and events.

Most prominent among them will be an Asian tourism and aviation exhibition which will feature around 50 booths with the participation of 600 representatives from 110 international airlines, 200 airports, and 30 travel firms. Of which, 60% of the participants will come from Asia, whilst the remaining 40% will be from Europe, North America, the Middle East and others.

In addition, there will be over 500 meetings between airlines, airports and tourism authorities from across the Asia Pacific region using On-site Meeting System or through the Routes event app; as well as a series of conferences and workshops on ways to drive post-pandemic aviation recovery in Asia and develop aviation services in the new normal.

According to Deputy Director of the municipal Department of Tourism Nguyen Xuan Binh, his department has already worked with the front-line delegation of the Informa Routes Company, which focused on surveying Da Nang International Airport, the Da Nang Exhibition and Convention Centre and some official venues of the event.

As of April 15, 300 delegates from 123 organisations have registered to participate in tourism and aviation exhibitions at Routes Asia 2022.
