Retail gasoline prices in Viet Nam surpass VND30,000/litre from May 23 evening following the latest adjustment by the Inter-Ministry of Industry and Trade - Finance.

Specifically, the retail price of E5RON92 increased by VND680 to a maximum of VND29,630/litre while that of RON95 climbed by VND670 to VND30,650/litre.

Meanwhile, a decrease of VND1,100/litre was seen in the price of DO 0.05s-II oil to VND 25,550/ litre, whilst the price of kerosene was down by VND660 to VND24,400/litre.

This has been the third consecutive increase of petrol prices since late April. In this adjustment period, RON95 and RON92 gasoline did not use the fuel price stabilisation fund, whilst the 0.05s-II DO oil and kerosene are set aside VND300 to the stabilisation fund.

It is known that a policy on reducing 50% of environmental protection tax on gasoline officially took effect in early April, but, the decrease in gasoline prices is still quite slight.
