Da Nang appeals for investment into high-tech health
Da Nang People's Committee Vice Chairman Tran Phuoc Son, on Wednesday, met with some representatives from Japan-based Metran Co., Ltd. to discuss the construction of a high-tech medical device manufacturing factory at the Da Nang Hi-Tech Park. The building of the factory aims to meet demands for medical equipment of the country and its export activities.

Mr. Tran Ngoc Phuc, the President of the Metran Company, said that his company has more than 40 years’ experience in manufacturing high-tech medical equipment in Japan. The company's high-end medical devices are now being used at more than 90% of pediatric centres in Japan and many countries around the world, thereby significantly contributing to reducing mortality rate in premature babies.
In Viet Nam, Metran opened a subsidiary, called Metran Vitec Co., Ltd, in Binh Duong Province in 2012. The subsidiary specialises in manufacturing high-tech medical devices, such as ventilators, oxygen concentrators, positive pressure ventilators, and high flow breathing ventilators.
Metran Vitec company’s products are exported to such countries as Japan, Indonesia, India, and Hong Kong, as well as directly consumed in Viet Nam.
Talking to Metran Company’s representatives, Vice Chairman Son affirmed that Da Nang was prioritising appealing for investment flows into the high-tech healthcare field.
He remarked that the city leaders showed their keen interest in the aforementioned project. He also pledged that the municipal government would provide maximum support for the company to implement the project effectively in the city.
Mr. Son also directed the Authority of the Da Nang Hi-Tech Park and Industrial Parks, along with relevant agencies, to coordinate and support the Metran Company to expedite the handling of project-related procedures as soon as possible.
