Da Nang - Singapore innovative startup connections promoted

The Innovation Startup Support Centre under the Da Nang Department of Science and Technology had a working session with a delegation led by Mr. Jaya Ratnam, Singapore Ambassador to Viet Nam.

At the meeting, Ms. Vu Thi Bich Hau, the Deputy Director of the municipal Department of Science and Information Technology, Da Nang regularly cooperates with Singapore to organise seminars and competitions on innovative startups.

Most recently, IPHatch Viet Nam - Singapore innovation startup competition jointly organised by Da Nang Department of Science and Technology and the Science and Technology Enterprise and Market Development Department under the Ministry of Science and Technology in cooperation with Piece Futere Company to be held in September 2021.

Singapore is considered to be a bright example of innovative entrepreneurship and has many policies and models for Da Nang to follow. Therefore, the Da Nang Innovation Startup Support Center wishes to have the opportunity to connect with the Singapore government as well as expect this Southeast Asian country to support the infrastructure development of the Da Nang startup ecosystem.

Ambassador Jaya Ratnam said that the meeting offered an opportunity for the delegation to grasp more information about Da Nang's innovative start-up ecosystem, especially information about Da Nang Hi-Tech Park and the Da Nang Centralised Information Technology Park.

Singapore is increasingly interested in expanding investment in Viet Nam, especially in the field of innovative startups and Smart Cities building. Currently, Singapore and Viet Nam have implemented a number of initiatives to promote the development of the startup ecosystem in Viet Nam, laying a foundation to strengthen the Da Nang -  Singapore connection.

The Singapore Embassy in Viet Nam is ready to support Da Nang to connect with Singapore's businesses and startup ecosystem as well as cooperate with this central Vietnamese hub on biotechnology.

In addition, Mr. Jaya Ratnam showed his interest in learning more information about the city's business incubators and startup courses for experience exchanges and appropriate support.
