Da Nang tourism seen rebounding after pandemic
Tourism is rebounding more quickly in Da Nang as the city is welcoming back a large number of tourists from both at home and abroad this summer.

In recent weeks, busy atmosphere has been recorded along coastal routes in Da Nang as many tourist coaches have been continuously picking up or dropping off passengers in front of seaside hotels. Local beaches are full of people in the mornings or afternoons.
Ms. Tran Thi Hue, a tourist from Ha Noi, said that her family had to book all tourism services quite early due to a fear of high airfares and high occupation rates at tourist attractions. Thanks for booking in advance, her family had a very convenient trip.
Present on the recently resumed flight from Incheon, South Korea, to Da Nang after a long hiatus due to COVID-19, Mr. Jo Young Shin, a South Korean native, expressed that Da Nang is an increasingly popular destination for South Korean tourists, but his trip to the coastal city was delayed because of the pandemic.
“Thanks to the fresh resumption of Da Nang - Incheon direct flights, I find it more convenient to visit Da Nang. Hopefully, during my stay in the city, I will have fun and great experience here” said Mr. Jo Young Shin.
With its prime location on Vo Nguyen Giap Street, the Serene Hotel is expected to be fully booked this summer, especially on weekends.
Mr. Phan Van Thuc, CEO of the hotel, said that the hotel welcomed both group and individual guests. His hotel has thoughtfully prepared services, utilities and human resources in order to bring the best experience to visitors.
Director of Communications and Marketing of the Nui Than Tai Hot Springs Park Le Thi Bich Huong said that since the beginning of the peak tourist season, her park has welcomed a large number of visitors. Currently, the Ebisu Onsen Resort in the park is fully booked on weekends, and its room occupancy rate on weekends in July reaches about 95%.
General Director of the Furama Resort Danang cum Chairman of the municipal Hotel Association Nguyen Duc Quynh remarked that with the strong recovery of domestic tourism, the hotel room capacity in the city reaches from 60-80%, and about 80% of accommodation establishments in the city have fully reopened their doors.
Hopefully, the recovery of the domestic tourist market, along with the resumption of international routes between Da Nang and such foreign countries as India, South Korea and Singapore, will be a good signal for the city's accommodation establishment.

More international air routes resumed
In the last days of June, after the Routes Asia 2022, there was a significant increase in the number of flights to and from Da Nang. Particularly, 111 domestic flights landed at Da Nang International Airport on June 24, and 105 domestic flights and 9 international flights on June 25.
Most recently, Vietjet Air has announced the opening of seven new international routes with flights connecting Da Nang with Singapore, South Korea and India.
These flights will connect Da Nang with Singapore, South Korea’s Busan, and the five largest and most populous cities in India, namely New Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad and Bangalore.
Starting from the third quarter of 2022, Vietjet will operate from 4 to 7 round-trip flights a week between Da Nang and these destinations in an attempt to meet growing travel demand from local residents and tourists.
Besides, a series of events ‘Take me to the Sun’ with loads of fascinating cultural and arts are promising to bring exciting and memorable experience for visitors. Included are the Sun Fest Street Carnival, ‘Enjoying Da Nang cuisine and beer space’ festival, a culinary exchange with the runner-up of Masterchef 2015, ‘Enjoy Banh Xeo Da Nang’ contest, and music festival.
Director of the municipal Department of Tourism Truong Thi Hong Hanh revealed that her agency is planning to launch new inland waterway routes, and support businesses to introduce their new tourism products to tourists such as paragliding and beach sports in a bid to increase tourist numbers to the city for the rest half of the year.
Notably, the city is slated to host the Da Nang Golf Tourism Festival 2022 in early September, with a focus on the Asian Development Tour (ADT) 2022 - the official regional sanctioning body for professional golf in Asia, and the Viet Nam International Tourism Mart in December.
Importance will be attached to continuing to implement support policies for M.I.C.E delegations to Da Nang, as well as promoting the reopening of international routes into traditional tourist markets like South Korea, Thailand, Singapore, Japan, and Malaysia.
