The area in Lien Chieu District previously earmarked for the construction of the railway station will be developed into a large commercial and service centre associated with the extended Nguyen Sinh Sac arterial traffic route to rebuild this district.
This information was announced by Director of the municipal Department of Construction Phung Phu Phong at the question-and-answer session on Wednesday afternoon during the 7th ongoing session of the municipal People’s Council in its 10th tenure for the 2021 - 2026 term.
Ms. Le Kim Anh, Deputy Head of the Home Affairs Office of Lien Chieu District, informed that, in July 2004, the municipal People's Committee issued a decision approving the removal of the existing railway station out of the city heart to Lien Chieu District. However, the project has been suspended for 18 years, greatly affecting local residents’ lives.
Meanwhile, residents living the area affected by the project asked for support from the municipal authorities to solve project-related welfare problems, especially legal documents on land and houses, roads, environment and waste water treatment.
Currently, a number of investors are showing their keen interest in a project on developing Lien Chieu District into a large commercial and service centre according to adjustments to Da Nang's master plan by 2030, vision to 2045.
The municipal People's Committee has assigned the management boards to implement the subdivision planning project of Lien Chieu District in the spirit of absorbing ideas to rebuild the district into a modern and spacious locality connected with transport infrastructure.
The subdivision planning project is expected to be approved by the end of 2022. Upon approval, the city will start to call for investment into the project.
