Commenting on the orientations of tourism development in Da Nang by 2030, with a vision towards 2045, Vice Chairman of the Da Nang People's Committee Tran Phuoc Son emphasized that tourism is a general economic sector, so it is necessary to prepare carefully and review the tasks in 2023, based on the scheme for sectors to develop development plans.

At the conference held on Friday, Vice Chairman Son suggested that the Department of Tourism need to be more detailed about the tasks assigned to each sector, and develop a specific plan of work progress and completion time.

In detail, special attention should be paid to developing products and services at beaches, especially along Nguyen Tat Thanh coastal street, encouraging local economic development, diversifying tourism activities and a series of events in 2023 to avoid a passive situation, and creating unique, high quality and attractive products to visitors.

Vice Chairman Son suggested speeding up the projects of great interest to the general public such as the River of Light project, landscape investment on the both sides of the Han River, renovating the landscape of sidewalks and sandbanks on the Hoang Sa - Vo Nguyen Giap route, exploiting the tourism development potential Nguyen Tat Thanh coastal road, forming Bach Dang - Nguyen Van Troi - Tran Hung Dao pedestrian street. Besides, implementing key projects such as Van village tourist area project and Nam O tourist area should be given a heed.

In particular, it is a need to promote night-time tourism, exploiting community tourism, especially inland waterway tourism at Ngu Hanh Son, K20, Quan The Am Pagoda, exploiting tourist routes connecting Nam O Village to Hoa Bac via Cu De River. Particularly for inland waterways, in addition to existing routes such as CT15, it is a good idea to promote more yachting activities and paragliding on the Son Tra Peninsula.

According to Deputy Director of the Department of Tourism Tan Van Vuong, the project orienting tourism development in Da Nang by 2030, with a vision to 2045 has been basically approved by the Da Nang administration.

The project aims to assess the current state of Da Nang tourism includes tourism space, infrastructure for tourism development, financial resources, human resources, travel activities and passenger transportation, tourism development orientations, construction management of accommodation facilities.

In particular, the cross-cutting perspective for tourism development includes systematic cohesion, sustainability, creativity and flexible adaptation.

The overall goal by 2030, Da Nang will become a centre of high-quality tourism services, an innovative destination of Viet Nam and Southeast Asia at large. With a vision to 2045, the central Vietnamese city will become Asia's leading tourist destination, one of the centers of high-end, creative, green, smart eco-tourism resorts, international conferences, events and festivals.
