Da Nang boosts technology application in OCOP consumption and development

The OCOP (One Commune-One Product) programme in Da Nang has recorded encouraging achievements in terms of quantity and product scale. In the long-term, OCOP businesses and management agencies need to improve the database management system and create effective advertising and consumption channels in a bid to create transparency and avoid disruptions in terms of product information and data.

Right after launching cordyceps products to the market, the Vinseed Biotechnology Co., Ltd based in Hoa Xuan Ward, Cam Le District, has actively registered trademark ‘Dr.Trung’ for its groups of products, at the same time registered barcode numbers for each product with the National Centre for Codes and Barcodes.

Currently, all the company's products are printed with QR codes leading to the company's official website and its Zalo Official Account so that customers can quickly check the information and origins of products.

Deputy Director of the company Nguyen Thien Khiem said his company’s products are mainly sold online and via e-commerce platforms, so digital transformation is both a need and an inevitable trend that will help businesses survive and develop in the era of industrial revolution 4.0.

Similarly, leafy vegetables and melons of the AFARM High-tech Agriculture JSC in Hoa Phu Commune, Hoa Vang District, have met 4-star standards under the so-called OCOP model, and have been highly appreciated for being packaged in MAP (modified atmospheric packaging), labeling and traceability.

According to Mr. Nguyen Tan Phuong, the company's director, right from the early days of establishment, the company has applied the Erp management system to business overall management activities. In particular, the focus has been on input material management and production management, from which, applying to product traceability.

“We have a separate traceability system, ensuring the right process and printing out a QR code stamp for quick traceability. Specifically, every day, when selling a shipment of a product from the warehouse, staff will input data on the system, and then the data will be automatically retrieved according to the batch code, raw materials, varieties, and growing and packing venues. After that, the company’s staff will label stamps on the packaging before taking the products out of the farm” explained Mr. Phuong.

Deputy Director of the municipal Department of Industry and Trade Nguyen Huu Hanh said that the department has provided full financial assistance for 220 businesses, cooperatives, and manufacturing and business facilities to deploy e-commerce application solutions. Included are building e-commerce website, online portfolio page, SEO solution via Landing Pages, and customer information management and smart sales management software; supporting exporters to join e-commerce platforms like Alibaba, Lazada and Sendo; and helping businesses and business households to promote online sales with multi-channel marketing solutions.

According to Director of the municipal Department of Agriculture and Rural Development Nguyen Phu Ban, basically, OCOP products have registered trademarks and barcodes for product origin tracing.

Currently, the Department is focusing on implementing digital transformation for OCOP products, including researching, reviewing and standardizing products in terms of trademarks, packaging, and barcodes to ensure the conditions for putting OCOP products on e-commerce platforms.

Moreover, heed will be on step by step selecting OCOP products to pilot the application of Blockchain technology in product traceability.
