Da Nang government shows its willingness to provide support for businesses to overcome difficulties

Da Nang Party Committee Deputy Secretary cum municipal People's Council Chairman Luong Nguyen Minh Triet, on Wednesday, chaired a dialogue with representatives of seaside resorts to learn about their difficulties and problems relating to the payment of annual land lease.

The event saw the attendance of municipal People's Committee Vice Chairman Ho Ky Minh and People's Council Vice Chairwoman Cao Thi Huyen Tran.

Deputy Secretary Triet expressed his understanding and shared the difficulties and losses with city-based tourism businesses in general and seaside resorts in particular which have been facing double challenge of the impact of COVID-19 and the cyclical increase in land prices.

He remarked that the municipal government has researched and found all policies in accordance with its authority to issue policies to minimise land rent fees for businesses.

Mr. Triet requested the municipal Department of Finance, the Department of Natural Resources and Environment, and the Tax Department to see review regulations to further reduce land rent fees for businesses and clarify the specificity of seaside resorts so that further reduction in land rent fees can be considered.

With regard to proposals about debt extension and land rent divergence, the Tax Department and the municipal People's Committee directed the units to urgently provide clear and specific instructions for businesses to carry out the procedures according to Circular No. 80/2021/TT-BTC on implementing a number of articles of the Law on Tax Administration in order to reduce pressure on businesses during difficult times.

As for the public sand area east of the seaside resorts, the municipal authorities directed the Department of Natural Resources and Environment and the Ngu Hanh Son District authorities to urgently remove this area from taxable area.

Speaking at the dialogue, Standing Vice Chairman Ho Ky Minh affirmed that the city government will always accompany and provide maximum support for businesses in tandem with strictly complying with the provisions of the law.
