Da Nang transport sector ensures adequate vehicles for passengers during National Day holiday
The Da Nang Department of Transport has recently asked taxi companies to ensure the quantity and quality of vehicles to satisfy the increasing travel demand of passengers during the upcoming National Day holiday which will last from September 1 - 4.
Also, taxis must be safe and clean, and ensure the technical and artistic quality as registered when being put into service.
At the same time, taxi drivers have been required to strictly observe the national Road Traffic Law, and forbidden to refuse passengers at airports, train stations and bus stations who travel for a short distance.
If the number of customers increases dramatically from time to time, the switchboards of taxi companies are not allowed to give customers a promise as the unit cannot arrange vehicles. Simultaneously, the focus should be on promptly correct taxi drivers violating the Road Traffic Law and the rules of taxi passenger transport.
Moreover, the municipal Department of Transport has required passenger transport service providers on fixed-routes not to arbitrarily raise fares, and carry more than the prescribed number of people.
Ticket prices have to be displayed at ticket sales places and on vehicles according to regulations. Drivers and service staff who violate road transport regulations will be resolutely suspended.
The Department of Transport has directed local bus operators to ensure the adequate number of vehicles to meet the growing demand of passengers during the forthcoming public holiday.
Importance will be attached to strengthening control and monitoring of all activities of vehicles through journey monitoring devices and surveillance cameras installed on vehicles to promptly handle violations.
