Deputy Prime Minister Le Van Thanh has approved the project "Promoting the application of information technology in collecting information and forecasting the situation of the agricultural product market".

Accordingly, the project aims to complete the construction of a centralised data centre of the agricultural industry (data warehouse) by 2025 to serve the analysis and forecast of the agricultural market situation, complete the development of tools and software to collect information, analyze and forecast the market situation of key national agricultural products and those with large-scale development potential.

At the same time, special heed will be paid to establishing a network system to regularly and periodically provide information about the centralised data centre. 100% of the staff in the network system will be trained to meet the requirements of system operation.

Information and data on the agricultural market situation will be collected regularly in order to serve analysis, forecasting, ensuring consistency, accuracy and timely provision to State management agencies, organisations, businesses and cooperatives.

Another task is to review and perfect the IT infrastructure of relevant ministries and agencies, effectively exploit available resources and infrastructure invested under related projects on IT and digital transformation, meeting the requirements of integration, information and data sharing on agricultural product market analysis and forecasting.

Also, measures will be taken to ensure information safety in accordance with the provisions of the law on information security and safety; anti-malware protection; information security management and supervision; data security, data backup and recovery mechanism.

In addition, multidisciplinary databases will update relevant information and data to meet requirements on in-depth, accurate and timely analysis and forecasting service of the agricultural product market.

Periodical data of the agricultural sector, information on foreign markets and other countries-released trade policies will be updated.
