The move aimed to introduce and transfer to farmers technical advances and new technologies applied to agricultural production in the city, thereby significantly contributing to modernising production processes, and promoting high-tech application and sustainable agricultural production.

Head of Tay An Village Phung Van Mai said that farmers previously sprayed pesticides entirely by manual method. Those who perform manual labor in areas treated with pesticides can face major exposure from direct spray.

He, therefore, highlighted the significant benefits of crop-spraying drone technology for farmers in ensuring their health, and helping them increase the efficiency of handling crop pests and diseases.

According to Mr. La Van Hung, Deputy Director of Smart Agricultural Service Centre, the Nicotex Da Nang JSC has demonstrated and applied crop-spraying drones in such localities as Hai Duong, Hung Yen, Ha Noi, Thanh Hoa, Kien Giang, and An Giang.

Such advanced equipment has brought many benefits for farmers, including reducing production costs and environmental pollution, protecting farmers' health, and contributing to solving the shortage of agricultural labor.

“We hope that the new technology will be widely applied in Da Nang in a bid to help modernise agricultural production processes, and promote the application of smart and high-tech equipment in agricultural production” noted Mr. Hung.

Director of the Da Nang Centre for Fishery - Agriculture - Forestry Extension Dang Van Hong remarked unmanned aerial vehicles are a breakthrough technology, replacing farmers in some production stages. This equipment can be applied in vegetable, sugarcane and paddy rice production in Da Nang towards modern, smart and hi-tech agriculture, hereby promoting mechanisation in production to improve productivity and reduce product costs.
