Boasting a beautiful and long coastline, Da Nang is considered to be a locality with great potential for developing sea-based tourism. In an attempt to fully tap this advantage, it is high time for the Da Nang tourism industry to take a new approach to increase its attractiveness in tandem with making the debut of attractive new services along local beaches.

Highlights of My An Beach

On April 30, 2022, the Management Board of Son Tra Peninsula and Da Nang tourist beaches put into operation My An night-time beach area. Visiting here, tourists and locals have the opportunity to experience more diverse 24/7 services such as night-time beach activities, therapeutic massage services, food trucks, decorative check-in points, on-the- beach movie screening and outdoor staging arts performances.

Interestingly, the My An beach site connects with Holiday Beach beach service areas and Dana Beach to form a chain of sea entertainment service areas, along with An Thuong night town, all of which create a colourful and vibrant My An - An Thuong tourist street complex bustling with diversified tourism activities.

As schedule, at-beach carnival programmes in service for people and visitors will take place Sept. 11 and Oct. 16 at the beach movie area.

“It can be said that My An Beach is currently a bright spot in the chain of night services at Da Nang tourist beaches. As part of the Night-time Economic Development Project, My An Night Beach together with An Thuong night-time town have created a colourful and vibrant ‘from-the-city inner-to-the-sea’ tourism linkage complex, thereby exploiting the city’s tourism potential, creating more tourism products that are highly competitive as compared to other localities”, said Nguyen Duc Vu, the Head of the Management Board of Son Tra Peninsula and Da Nang tourist beaches.

Civilised and good-quality tourism environment ensured

On the occasion of the recent National Day (Sept.2), Da Nang attracted a large number of domestic and foreign visitors. It can be seen that coastal roads are always busy with passenger coaches going in and out of hotels whilst beaches were also full of people every morning and afternoon.

Present at the highly-popular T20 Beach in My An Ward, Mr. Nguyen Van Thuy, a Ha Noi tourist eagerly said that, although it was still hot, he let his children go to the beach for relaxation. His family was very surprised when right at the tourist beach, the food was plentiful yet cheap. “I noticed that, along the beach, there are 6-7 mobile food trucks  most of which offer food items at cheaper prices as compared to those in many other tourist destinations”, said Mr. Thuy.

With the goal of turning Da Nang beach into a ‘safe, civilised and attractive’ tourism heaven, the city is gearing up developing more night tourism products to serve domestic and foreign tourists. A wide range of services along the beach have increased such as movie screenings combined with refreshments, street dances, outdoor events combined with community activities, music shows with the participation of well-known singers and stars.

“In the future, we will propose a number of similar models along the coastal routes of Nguyen Tat Thanh and Hoang Sa - Vo Nguyen Giap - Truong Sa in order to diversify nightlife services, thereby meeting the increasing needs of tourists and local residents”, added Mr. Vu.
