800,000 poultry and 11,000 cattle in Da Nang to be vaccinated in 2023
The Da Nang government has approved a plan to vaccinate against foot-and-mouth disease in cattle, avian influenza, and lumpy skin disease in buffaloes and cows in 2023.
Accordingly, the rate of poultry to get avian influenza vaccines in 2023 will reach 80% or more. Vaccination coverage will include 11 communes in Hoa Vang District; and Hoa Hiep Bac, Hoa Khanh Bac and Hoa Khanh Nam wards in Lien Chieu District. Vaccinated subjects will be chickens, ducks, and quails for meat and eggs.
It is expected that the number of to-be-vaccinated poultry in each half of 2023 is about 400,000. The total number of poultry to be vaccinated in 2023 is about 800,000.
Similarly, the proportion of buffaloes and cows to be vaccinated against foot-and-mouth, and lumpy skin, diseases will reach over 80%.
It is expected that each half of 2023, about 5,500 buffaloes and cows will get foot-and-mouth vaccine.
Vaccination against lumpy skin disease is organised once a year, at 1-2 months before the end of the protective immunity period for cattle that have been vaccinated against lumpy skin disease.
