Da Nang welcomes 135 Indian passengers on first international flight from New Delhi

Vietjet Air-operated flight VJ830 landed at Da Nang International Airport at 5:40am on Wednesday, bringing 135 Indian passengers to the Vietnamese central coastal city.

This is Vietjet Air’s first flight on its direct route between New Delhi (India) and Da Nang, departing from New Delhi at 11:30pm (local time) on October 18.

Upon arrival at Da Nang International Airport, the Indian guests were warmly welcomed and presented with flowers by leaders of the municipal Department of Tourism.

The New Delhi - Da Nang air route is operated with a frequency of 4 flights per week on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays.

Ms. Navdeesh Kaur from New Delhi said she was very happy to be on the first flight from India to Da Nang. She added she knew the city before through videos and clips promoted on social networking platforms.

She hopes that during her 2-week stay in Da Nang, she will have wonderful experience at the city’s popular tourist destinations such as Rong (Dragon) Bridge and Sun World Ba Na Hills Tourist Area, as well as enjoy local cuisine, especially seafood.

Da Nang Department of Tourism Deputy Director Nguyen Xuan Binh highlighted the importance of the launch of international flights to Da Nang from Indian cities to the city’s international tourism recovery.

Mr Binh hoped that the opening of the new international routes from Mumbai and New Delhi to Da Nang will bring more Indian tourists to Da Nang, contributing to driving the city’s tourism recovery, and its socio- economic development as a whole.

It is known that leaders of Da Nang government and its tourism sector have conducted visits to India in order to promote the city’s tourism in the country of more than a billion people.

After launching international flights to India, the city's tourism industry will coordinate with its Indian partners to conduct a survey to learn about tastes of Indian tourists in order to develop tourism products suitable to such tourists, especially those related to wedding events as well as food culture of India.

From October 18, flights between Da Nang and Mumbai Lumpur will operate 3 times per week on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays while Vietjet Air will operate 4 flights  per week on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays between Da Nang and New Delhi.
