At its 8^th session on Tuesday, the Da Nang People’s Council gave a nod to increase the total investment capital for the DT 601 route upgrade and renovation project from VND643.5 billion to nearly VND725 billion, a rise of more than VND81 billion compared to the original. Also, the completion deadline of the project is pushed to 2023.

The reason for the adjustment to increase capital is due to changes in support policies and price slippage, leading to a hike in the project's compensation costs. In addition, the city has issued a policy of partly paying compensation for the resettlement areas in the centre of Hoa Bac Commune, and the western ring road 2 from the project’s compensation and clearance funds.

Work started on the DT601 route upgrade and renovation project in May 2020. Developed by the Da Nang Management Board of Traffic Construction Investment Projects, the 35,681km-long project runs from Hoa Son Commune to Hoa Bac Commune in Hoa Vang District and the bordering area of Nam Dong District in Thua Thien-Hue Province.
