Petrol prices drop by VND1,140 to lowest since early 2022

Gasoline prices fell to the lowest in the year to date in the latest adjustment made at 3:00pm on Monday by the Inter-Ministry of Industry and Trade - Finance.

Specifically, the retail price of RON95 was cut by VND1,140 to VND22,120 per litre, and that of E5 RON92 was slipped by VND1,050 to VND20,730 per litre.

Similarly, the price of diesel oil was adjusted down by VND328 to VND22,208 VND/liter, whilst that of kerosene declined by VND753 to VND21,688 per litre. Mazut oil was priced at VND14,909 per kg, a decline of VND560.

In the adjustment, the two ministries determined to extract VND451 per litre from E5 RON92 petrol price, VND600 per litre from E5 RON92 price, VND300 from diesel and kerosene prices, and VND741 per kilo from Mazut oil for the petrol price stabilisation fund.

So far this year, petrol prices have been adjusted 26 times with 13 times up and 12 times down and one kept unchanged. Particularly, gasoline prices have been adjusted down for the 9th time in a row from the beginning of July, 2022. The petrol prices are now at the lowest level this year.

A representative of the Viet Nam National Petroleum Group, Petrolimex, said that the petroleum stabilisation fund (BOG) at the enterprise was VND1,040 billion.
