Sections of the North-South railway route passing through Da Nang and Hue City has been cleared, so some passenger trains on the route resumed their normal operation.

The Viet Nam Railways Corporation announced on Sunday after many hours of active repairs, sections of the North-South railway route passing through the Da Nang - Hue area was already cleared.

Currently, passenger trains are allowed to slow down through the Hai Van Pass at a speed of 10km/h, and through the Hue - Van Xa area at a speed of 5km/h.

The railway company resumes the operation of some passenger trains on the North-South route as before starting from today, October 16.

It is known that over the past two days, due to torrential rain in Central Viet Nam, many sections of the North - South railway route through Da Nang - Thua Thien Hue area have been severely damaged.

In some places, railway infrastructure was damaged, so the company temporarily halted the operation of some trains on the North-South route for repairs.

The Viet Nam Railway Corporation mobilised manpower and machinery to clean up landslide areas, and fix the damaged rail sections in Da Nang and Thua Thien Hue so that their services could be resumed as soon as possible.

Currently, the unit continues to strengthen repair of affected and damaged railway sections to ensure the train running speed and traffic safety.
