Viet Nam International Travel Mart set for mid-December in Da Nang

At a press conference on Saturday, it was announced that the Viet Nam International Travel Mart-VITM Da Nang 2022 will take place at the city’s Exhibition and Convention Centre from December 9 - 11.

Entitled ‘Developing marine tourism, exploiting the strengths of Viet Nam's tourism’, the 3-day event will be organised by the Viet Nam Tourism Association, the Da Nang People's Committee, the municipal Department of Tourism, and the local Tourism Association.

The purpose of the fair is to support system of tourism businesses throughout the country to deploy business activities to restore and develop international tourism.

VITM Da Nang 2022 is expected to see the participation of tourism firms involved in sports, resorts, MICE and discovery tourism, attracting a large number of domestic and foreign tourists interested in these types of tourism.

VITM Danang 2022 is expected to feature about 350 booths, 50 of them will be from international tourism firms such as South Korea, Japan, Malaysia, Thailand. Also, there will be booths from a number of international buyer groups from leading international markets like South Korea, Japan, the United States, Australia, and Western European countries, Vietnamese and international airlines, travel agencies, accommodation, and travel services.

The VITM Da Nang 2022 is expected to attract about 2,000 Vietnamese and international businesses along with about 30,000 domestic and international visitors.

During the fair, there will be meeting and exchange programmes between tourism businesses and destination management agencies to introduce tourism products, tourism stimulus packages, tourism technologies, etc.

Additionally, the organisers will welcome international buyer delegations from the US, Australia, Canada, Western European countries, Japan, South Korea, India and Southeast Asian nations. These delegations will meet and work with tourism firms in Da Nang, and Central Viet Nam as a whole, as well as conduct surveys about tourist attractions and tourism products in these localities.

Furthermore, a seminar on developing marine tourism in Central Viet Nam - challenges and solutions, and the other on tourism real estate will be held during the event.

There will be such fascinating activities as a golf tourism tournament in Da Nang, and traditional Vietnamese and international arts programmes.

Mr. Vu The Binh, Chairman of the Viet Nam Tourism Association, highlighted the significance of the upcoming fair in showing the strength of Da Nang’s sea-based tourism in particular, and Central Viet Nam in general, as well as facilitating participating businesses to promote their images and products to both domestic and international tourists, thereby contributing to building Da Nang tourism brand as the leading MICE and resort tourism hub of Viet Nam and the region.
