Attractive OCOP programmes

The Thao Sinh business establishment now operates a store to display OCOP products for sales at 86 Pham Nhu Tang. This site acts as a bridge to beef up trade promotion, support the consumption of products in Thanh Khe and the whole city as a whole, as well as create favourable conditions for OCOP products to reach consumers inside and outside the city.

“Up to now, our store is selling nearly 50 OCOP and local signature products, of which 24 are certified as 3 and 4-star ones. We hope that OCOP products will continue to be promoted to reach customers in order to increase the income of entities and production facilities and contribute to the effective implementation of the campaign. ‘Vietnamese people prioritize using Vietnamese goods’ in the city”, said Mr. Sinh.

Boasting more than 30 years in the production of traditional fish sauce, the product of the Van Tranh fish sauce factory at 60 Chinh Huu, An Hai Bac Ward, Son Tra District is one of the most popular products in Da Nang with high consumption rate.

Apart from the Da Nang market, the facility’s fish sauce products are distributed in many other provinces and cities such as Ha Noi, Thua Thien Hue and Quang Binh. At the end of 2022, the establishment's pure fish sauce product was rated as a 3-start OCOP product.

According to Mr. Truong Van Tuong, the Van Tranh facility’s manager, compared to before, OCOP products, Vietnamese products are gradually being known and chosen by many people. This shows that the trend of consumers is gradually changing when switching to choosing Vietnamese products, especially clean products with clear and safe origins.

“In the next year, we will continue to improve product designs and quality in a step to upgrade the product into a 4-star one. In addition, many other products will be registered to participate in the OCOP program to create an OCOP "ecosystem" with the brand name ‘Van Tranh fish sauce’”, said Mr. Tuong shared.

In a similar vein, the product ‘Tien Sa Salanganes'Nest’ created by the namesake campany in Hoa Xuan Ward, Cam Le District was one of the two 4-star OCOP products recignised this year. It is known that the enterprise currently has more than 30 nesting houses in many provinces and cities.

According to Ms. Pham Thi Hong, the company’s Director, participating in the OCOP programme brings many benefits to businesses, especially support in terms of the registration of safety standard certifications, trade promotion through events and fairs, in addition to helping businesses approach the trend of choosing clean and safe products among domestic and foreign consumers.

Give a facelift to the quality of Vietnamese goods

In order to continue effectively implementing the campaign, in 2023, Da Nang’s relevant agencies will mobilise people and businesses to participate in responding in many forms, develop points to introduce and sell Da Nang's products.

On the other hand, heed will be paid to organising Vietnamese goods fairs, farmers' markets selling OCOP, typical commercial and rural industrial products, along with supply-demand connection and marketing programmes.

At the same time, it is high time to enhance e-commerce activities, support businesses to promote the application of digital technology in their operations, assist in setting up and building e-commerce websites, deploying virtual exhibition platforms to promote and exhibit products online.

Relevant local agencies must carry out inspections and control over the market, combating the sale of counterfeit, counterfeit and poor quality goods to protect the interests of producers and consumers in the city.
