On Tuesday morning, gold stores across Da Nang were packed with customers who sought to buy gold for good luck on God of Wealth Day (the 10^th day of the first lunar month).

Buying gold on God of Wealth Day is believed to bring good fortune to business and families throughout the year.

The Phu Nhuan Jewelry Store (PNJ) at 70 Tran Phu in Hai Chau District welcomed a large number of customers when it opened the door at 8:00 am.

Specifically, the buying price of SJC gold was at VND66.3 million per tael, whilst the selling price at VND67.5 million per tael. The buying and selling prices of PNJ gold were VND54.5 million and VND55.8 million per tael respectively. PNJ plain ring PNJ were offered at VND54.5 - 55.7 million per tael for buying and selling, and 99% gold at VND54 - 54.8 million per tael.

Mrs. Le Thi Kim Yen, Manager of the Phu Nhuan Jewelry Store (PNJ) at 70 Tran Phu, said that the store offered traditional figurines of the God of Wealth inscribed with the words Phuc (Happiness), Loc (Prosperity) and Tai (Wealth), with new and unique designs that are suggestions for Tet gifts. Customers have a variety of choices with sets of 3, 6 and 12 gold pieces.

Due to a high demand on the God of Wealth Day, many gold, silver and gem shops citywide have to increase opening hours and add more employees for these days.

Mrs. Nguyen Thi Kim Anh, Director of the Kim Khanh Viet Hung Co., Ltd based in Lien Chieu District, said that she has arranged staff to work overtime to promptly meet the needs of customers on the occasion of the God of Wealth Day.

She added that, in addition to the gold bars with the words Phuc (Happiness), Loc (Prosperity), Tai (Wealth) and Tho (Longevity), her store offered such new products as God of Wealth figurines, cat-shaped rings or the cat-shaped gold bar with the word Loc (Prosperity).

Mrs. Nguyen Thi Man Nghi, residing in Thanh Khe Dong Ward, Thanh Khe District, remarked shared that she often buys two maces of gold for luck and savings every year. This year, she bought one mace of SJC gold at the price of more than VND6.7 million.

Mrs. Dang Thi Khanh Phuong, manager of the Kim Khanh Tam Gold and Silver Shop located in Hoa Khanh Bac Ward, Lien Chieu District, said that her shop has been crowded with customers since the 8^th day of the first lunar month.

She added many people bought gold from January 29 and 30 (the 8^th and 9^th days of the first lunar month), but received products on January 31 to coincide with the God of Wealth Day.
