Previously, on December 27, 2022, the aforementioned South Korean female tourist came to Da Nang for travel experience. On the way from the Da Nang airport to the hotel, she was charged VND2.1 million for a taxi ride, 10 times higher than the normal price.
After receiving the feedback from this tourist, the Da Nang police quickly identified the taxi driver. On January 10, 2023, he fully returned the money that he had massively overcharged the woman.
As the tourist had already left Viet Nam and returned to S. Korea, the Da Nang Tourist Support Centre strived to reach out to her to return the money.
The money was fully returned to the tourist on February 9.
It is known that over the past time, the Visitor Support Centre has repeatedly helped many tourists who lost their passports, left their phones in the taxi, encountered accidents and faced COVID-19-related problems.
In 2022, more than 35,021 visitors came to the centre’s head office at 108 Bach Dang and 2 airport information counters to have their problems solved. Also, the centre received 16,545 phone calls and 326 emails from tourists.
Most of the tourists arriving in Da Nang wanted to get information about events, entertainment activities, attractions, shopping venues, means of transportation, hotels, tours, services with prestigious quality in the city.
