In the first working days after a 7-day Tet break, an enthusiastic atmosphere has been recorded at construction sites for key projects across Da Nang.

Investors and contractors have shown their strong determination and efforts at the beginning of the lunar year with the desire to ensure on-schedule construction progress and soon disburse public investment capital.

On January 30, dozens of motor vehicles and hundreds of engineers and workers gathered at the construction site for the Lien Chieu Port’s shared infrastructure to start the first working day of the Lunar New Year of the Cat 2023.

Mr. Nguyen Phu Xuan, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Phu Xuan Construction and Consulting JSC, who is a representative of the consortium of contractors of the project, said that after Tet construction units embarked on the daily pace of work with the spirit, faith and determination to successfully complete the goals and tasks from the very beginning of the year.

According to Mr. Le Thanh Hung, Director of the Management Board of Da Nang’s Priority Infrastructure Investment Projects - the investor of the Lien Chieu Port project, since the project kick-started in December 2022, the unit has directed the consortium of contractors to coordinate with the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, the War Department of the Ministry of National Defence, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and relevant ministries and branches to complete documents on handing over the sea area.

Along with that, the unit has signed a contract to lease the premises for the construction of the Executive Board's office and the breakwater block casting yard, as well as to prepare construction materials for the first working day of the lunar new year.

According to Mr. Hung, at least 25% of the construction and installation value of the contract, equivalent to VND 658 billion, will be completed in 2023. In the category of breakwaters, about 70% of the replacement of breakwater foundation and 20% of the breakwater construction will be done. Meanwhile, the dredging of the breakwater foundation and the construction of a mud dump will be fully completed. The unit expects to complete about 80% of the building of traffic road system and disburse 100% of the allocated capital for the project in 2023.

Also on January 30 morning, the ebullient working atmosphere was seen at the construction site of the social housing project for people with meritorious services to the revolution on Vu Mong Nguyen Street in Khue My Ward, Ngu Hanh Son District.

The VND223.8 billion project will feature 12 storeys, one basement, one attic floor, green landscape infrastructure, and 209 apartments with an area of 65-77m² each. The construction of the project is expected to be completed in late June 2024.

Also on the same day, 50 workers, 2 excavators, 1 bulldozer and 1 crane gathered at the construction site of the Hoa Xuan Wastewater Treatment Plant at Stage 3 in Cam Le District.

Deputy Director of the Management Board of Da Nang’s Priority Infrastructure Investment Projects Lam Quang Hoang added that work started on this project in early April 2022. The construction volume will reach more than 40% of the total contract value.
