Employee retention - big challenge for Da Nang businesses
Since the beginning of the year, Da Nang-based enterprises have been cooperating with the grassroots Trade Union organisations to deploy many activities to retain their employees, including improving the quality of collective bargaining agreements, and enhancing the living conditions for labourers.

According to recent statistics released by the Trade Union organisation of the Foster Electronics Co., Ltd. based in the Hoa Cam Industrial Park, Cam Le District, for many years, more than 99% of the company’s total employees returned to work on the first working day after Tet break. In order to maintain this impressive figure, the company's leaders and Trade Union organisation have made their great efforts.
Chairman of the Trade Union organisation of the Foster Electronics Co., Ltd. Bui Minh Vu said that leaders of the company informed employees about Lunar New Year's gift programme on the first working day after Tet with lucky money and a lucky draw tickets. The total value of the lucky draw gifts was about VND100 million with such attractive gifts as refrigerators, televisions, and household appliances.
In addition, the company has focused on improving the quality of life and strengthening welfare policies for its employees, Mr. Vu added.
Mrs. Tran Thi Lan hailing from Quang Tri Province, a worker at the Foster Electronics Co., Ltd., said that she has been working for the company for more than 7 years and always returned to work on the first working day with the hope of maintaining stable income.
Meanwhile, the PI Vina Danang Co., Ltd based in the Hoa Khanh Industrial Park, Lien Chieu District, always pays special attention to ensuring the rights of its employees and improving their lives, especially salary and bonus policy.
Mr. Yoo Hoil, General Director of the PI Vina Danang Co., Ltd., said that the company’s collective labor agreement has many provisions to take care of employees more beneficial than the legal regulations on labour.
In particular, the company gives attendance bonus of VND1.2 million per month for employees working for 5 years or more. Employees will have 14 days of annual leave. If they have not yet taken annual leave, they will receive 300% of compensation based on their salary. Also, there are 13th month salary bonus and Tet gifts worth VND500,000 each.
“Currently, our desire is to find long-term employees to develop production activities. We understand that in order for employees to stick with the company for a long time, aside from creating a good working environment, it is necessary to take better care of employees' lives. In addition, the company is also interested in improving working skills for our workers" Mr. Yoo Hoil said.

According to a representative of the Trade Union organisation of the Murata Manufacturing Vietnam Co., Ltd. based in the Hoa Khanh Industrial Park, Lien Chieu District, in order for workers and employees to be guaranteed their lives and income, leaders of the company and Trade Union organisation have negotiated to include more content in the collective labor agreements with the provisions of the law on rights and interests of employees such as working time, working conditions, regimes for female employees, and more.
Notably, the company has provisions on summer and winter bonuses according to the business coefficient for workers and employees to encourage them to put more effort in their work. Also, women in the 7th month of pregnancy or more can go home one hour early and receive full salary.

This helps to improve employees' lives, feel secure and stick with businesses.
