Transport activities in Da Nang increase sharply in Jan.
In January 2023, Da Nang witnessed the increase in value from transportation activities as a result of the surge in the number of visitors to Da Nang and the demand for travel during the Tet holiday, thereby creating momentum for the local transport industry group to recover after a long period of disruption due to COVID-19.
Specifically, the total revenue of the transportation, postal and delivery industries in January 2023 was estimated at approximately VND 1,900 billion, up 2.2% over the previous month and 7.5% over the same period in 2022. In which, passenger transport industry hit an estimate of VND654 billion, a rise of 27.3%; freight transport industry VND554 billion, an increase of 2.7%; and transportation support services nearly VND602 billion, down 3.7% over the same period.
The passenger transport industry earned an estimate of VND 533.3 billion in revenue. The number of passengers carried via road and waterway transportation reached an estimate of 2.17 million, up 28.7%, whilst that of passenger turns in January was estimated at 64 million, up 22.5% compared to the same period last year.
The revenue of the freight transport industry was estimated at VND554.3 billion, up 2.7%. The volume of goods transported by road and waterway in the month reached 4.1 million tonnes, up 3.5%. The volume of circulated goods decreased by 1.7% against 2022 to generate 383.8 million tonnes.
