Transport service providers in Da Nang have made plans to accelerate operations to better serve people’s growing travel demand during the forthcoming holidays of Hung Kings Commemoration Day, National Reunification and May Day from April 29 - May 3.

Mr. Pham Loi, the Deputy General Director of Da Nang Transportation and Bus Station Management JSC, said that the unit has developed a plan to serve the increasing travel needs of holidaymakers.

Preliminary statistics provided by the company show that the number of ticket bookings fluctuates between 2,000-2,500 on peak days, an increase of 20-30% compared to the same period last year.

At the Da Nang Railway Station, Mr. Doan Kim Tuan, the captain of the passenger transport team from the Da Nang Railway Transport Branch, said that the five-day holidays coincides with the opening of the tourist season in many provinces and cities, resulting in a sharp increase in travel demand.

Train tickets on April 28 and 29 are almost sold out, with only a few extra seats left, he added.

According to Mr. Tuan, most passengers book tickets online. Some people come to the station to buy tickets for daily trips.

In order to meet the growing travel needs of passengers, in addition to regular trains, the Saigon Railway Transport JSC has added more trains to Da Nang such as SE27/28 on the Ho Chi Minh City - Da Nang route, SE42/43 on the Nha Trang - Da Nang route, and SE17/18 on the Ha Noi - Da Nang route.
