Applying market research data to improve destination promotion efficiency

On Thursday, the Tourism Promotion Centre under the Da Nang Department of Tourism, and the Outbox Co., Ltd. (referred to as Outbox), inked a cooperation agreement on the application of market data in improving the efficiency of destination promotion and management.

Accordingly, in the 2023-2024 period, Outbox will share and update tourism market data for the municipal Department of Tourism and the Tourism Promotion Centre in service of the management and administration of destinations.

Additionally, the company will pilot the system of Index of Da Nang Destination Attractiveness (IDDA), as well as provide training courses on enhancing the capacity of market research and application of visitor data for workforce of the city's hospitality sector.

In particular, the company will regularly monitor and update the IDDA system, aiming at comprehensively improving the competitiveness and attraction of the city.

Da Nang is a pioneer in Viet Nam in conducting regular surveys to measure the overall satisfaction of visitors as well as the confidence level of local businesses.

The building of a methodical index system and the regular monitoring of progress is a scientific and practical basis for the city to continuously improve operational efficiency and promote local tourism.

The survey programme is built with 2 main groups: domestic and international tourists who are experiencing tourism in Da Nang, and businesses operating in accommodation establishments and tourist attractions.

The programme is expected to be put into operation in the second quarter of 2023 by encoding surveys to generate QR codes and placing them at accommodation facilities, tourist attractions and Da Nang International Airport to collect necessary data.

According to Deputy Director of the municipal Department of Tourism Nguyen Xuan Binh, in the first quarter of the year, Da Nang led the country in revenue growth of accommodation and catering services with an increase of 74% over the same period in 2022.

Information published by Outbox shows that, in the first quarter of 2023, Da Nang ranked second on the ranking of tourism brands loved and chosen by Vietnamese tourists.
