Da Nang enhances coordination, promoting efficiency of inland waterway tourism
According to the Da Nang Department of Tourism, 26 sightseeing cruises, providing a total of more than 2,000 seats, are eligible to operate in the city. Of which, 17 ships operate on the Han River, whilst the remaining 9 operate near the Son Tra Peninsula.
The city plans to build 40 inland waterway wharves. Of which, 6 wharves have been already constructed, 9 others are undergoing investment preparation procedures and 25 are temporarily suspended construction as required by the Ministry of National Defence or has not yet implemented construction investment.
The municipal Department of Tourism has asked asked for approval from the municipal People’s Council to develop inland waterway tourism, including the next steps of the X2 wharf serving the Cu De - Truong Dinh river route, and the preparation for the phase 2 of the X1 and X3 wharves, and the completion of investment procedures for the Han River Port.
The district-level authorities have been tasked to implement projects and plans to create tourism products in the locality to soon form new destinations and products to attract more tourists. Included are projects on forming the K20 tourist site, and developing Hoa Vang community-based tourism during the 2021-2025 period, with orientation to 2030.
