Da Nang ranks sixth for per capita income nationwide

Da Nang’s per capita income in 2022 stood at VND5.807 million/ month, ranking sixth nationally after Binh Duong, Ho Chi Minh City, Ha Noi, Dong Nai and Hai Phong.

The result came from a survey on the Viet Nam Household Living Standards in 2022 conducted by the General Statistics Office of Viet Nam (GSO).

In the structure of the monthly per capita income in Da Nang, the proportion of income from wages and salaries accounts for 58.9%; earnings from non-farm self-employment 27.5%; income from agriculture, forests and fisheries 0.8%; and other revenues 12.8%.

Da Nang continues taking the lead in North Central Coast and Central Coast of Viet Nam in the 2022 rankings in terms of per capita income.

Compared to 2021, Da Nang's per capita income increased by VND577,000/person/month, equivalent to a rise of 11.1%. The city is down one place in Viet Nam’s per capita income rankings for 2022.

Viet Nam Living Standards Survey focussed on the household as the key socio-economic unit and provides valuable information on the living conditions and well-being of households in Viet Nam.

The survey covered a nationally representative sample of 47,000 households in 63 Vietnamese localities. Detailed information was collected on the demographic characteristics of households, education, health, employment, housing conditions, household expenditure, income and their components, possession of consumer durable goods and socio-economic characteristics.

The questionnaire survey aims to help national government’s relevant agencies assess household-based multidimensional poverty across the entire population using the individual as a unit.
