In late April, the Da Nang branch of the Viet Nam Travel and Marketing Transports JSC (Vietravel) launched a free-of-charge walking tour programme.

The tour, consisting of a maximum of 20 guests, kicks off at 4:00pm every Saturday.

During 2 hours with a distance of about 3km, visitors will depart from the Da Nang General Science Library and then will be taken by a tour guide to visit such local tourist-packed sites as the Han River Swing Bridge, Han Market, Rong (Dragon) Bridge, Museum of Cham Sculpture, and APEC Statue Garden Park.

For the first time participating in a free walking tour in Da Nang, Mr. Maclon Mugot from the Philippine said that participants listened to stories about the poetic Han River, watched the Rong (Dragon) Bridge, went shopping, enjoyed dry specialties at the Han Market, and took photos with ‘ao dai’.

Mr. Maclon Mugot said he was impressed by the beautiful local landscape, especially the warmth and friendliness of local people.

According to Mr. Dang Nhu Da Thanh, Deputy Director of Vietravel Da Nang, the purpose of the free tourism model is to connect local culture with tourists, and help visitors have time to learn and experience to understand more about the history and life of local people.

Each place or each destination is an interesting story about history, culture, architecture and unique art that the tour guide tells visitors. In addition, when participating in this free walking tour, visitors can also experience interesting activities such as going shopping at the Han market, and learning about street food and local culture.

In addition to the free walking tour, one of the products that are expected to create new things for tourists when coming to Da Nang is the newly-launched CT15 - Hon Sup - Bai Nam - Bai Da inland waterway tourism route. The route is 11km long and it is no more than 1.8km from shore.

Mr. Hoang Van Tuyen, Director of the Sao Bien Xanh Entertainment JSC, hoped that the freshly-launched inland waterway tourism route will bring new experience to both domestic and international tourists.

Mr. Phan Minh Hai, Deputy Head of the Management Board of the Son Tra Peninsula and Da Nang Tourism Beaches, said that the launching of the waterway tourism route was the basis for the formation and construction of special waterway tourism products, thereby contributing to creating more products in service of locals and tourists in the summer of 2023 in the next years.

Aside from the two aforementioned tourism products, the Bana Rita Glamping Farm and An Phu Farm on the Ba Na - Suoi Mo route in Hoi Phuoc Village, Hoa Phu Commune, Hoa Vang District, have been officially inaugurated. The models have been approved by the Hoa Vang District People's Committee for exploiting tourism services in combination with agricultural, forestry and aquaculture development on a trial basis.

These pilot models contribute to optimising land resources on the basis of core agricultural activities, and creating jobs for locals, thereby promoting the socio-economic development of Hoa Vang District, and Da Nang as a whole.

The 50,090 m2 Bana Rita Glamping Farm is a place for picnics, extra-curricular activities combined with skill training on demand.

The 18,183 m2 An Phu Farm is a place to produce organic vegetables, fruits and and foods under the ‘One Commune-One Product" (OCOP) programme, and provide other experience and entertainment services.

Tourism service providers in the city hope that these newly introduced products will contribute to enriching the tourism product chain of Da Nang, increasing choices for tourists and enhancing the attraction of the destination.
