The Da Nang Party Committee promulgates the Action Programme No. 32-CTr/TU to implement Resolution No. 36-NQ/TW dated January 30, 2023 adopted by the Politburo on the development and application of biotechnology to serve the country's sustainable development in the new situation.

Accordingly, with respect for Da Nang’s orientations, by 2030, mechanisms and policies for scientific and technological activities, the development of bio-industry and bio-economy will be completed and go on par with the level of developed countries.

At the same time, the city will strive to turn itself into an ecological city, a strong centre of the country and Southeast Asia for scientific research, R&D (research and development), innovation, human resource training, the development of biotechnology and bio-economy.

Biotechnology enterprises increased by 50% in investment scale and growth scale. Bio-industry and bio-economy will make up proportions of at least 10% and at least 25%, respectively, to the city's GRDP.

With a vision to 2045, Da Nang will become an ecological cum smart city, a centre for startups, innovation, smart production and services in the field of biotechnology reaching Asia's level. The bio-industry and bio-economy will make up proportions of at least 20% and at least 40%, respectively to the city's GRDP.
