Skyscanner: Da Nang among best places to travel in August
Skyscanner, a metasearch online travel agencies and airlines around the globe, has published an article highly recommending places to go in August, and among them was Da Nang, the coastal central Vietnamese hub of tourism that ranked third in the list.
The Cau Vang (Golden Bridge) at the Sun World Ba Na Hills Tourist Area has been honoured as the world's leading iconic tourist bridge. |
August, a month in summer, is the peak travel time. This month, people around the world want to party in bustling beach towns or get off the beaten track for a nature-based adventure.
Besides the traditional destinations in Europe, Skyscanner recommended visitors to new destinations, including Da Nang.
According to Skyscanner, while northern and southern Viet Nam are right in the middle of monsoon season, Da Nang and the rest of Central Viet Nam remains dry and sunny during August.
Da Nang is famous for its beaches. Soft golden sands, clean crystal waters and lots of chances to enjoy watersports make the city one of Viet Nam’s best beach destinations. Start at the long span of sand at My Khe Beach, or Non Nuoc Beach, which has calm waves perfect for swimming. One of Viet Nam’s most beautiful beaches, it sits in the shadow of the Marble Mountains, a cluster of limestone hills near the city.
Take a day to explore the area with its network of natural caves, Buddhist pagodas and Hindu grottoes. It’s also a wonderful place to stop and watch the famous sunset.
Laid-back Da Nang also makes a great jumping off point for day trips. The city of Hoi An, with its perfectly preserved Ancient Town, is around an hour away by car. Or, head north to the Hue Imperial Citadel, once home to the last Vietnamese feudal dynasty, Nguyen.
Along with Da Nang, the ‘Where to go in August’ list released by Skyscanner comprises of Bornholm (Denmark), Ljubljana (Sloveni), Seattle (the US), Gdańsk (Poland), Maasai Mara (Kenya), Madeira (Portugal), Colombo (Sri Lanka) and Turi Italy).
