Channel NewsAsia, a Singapore-based multinational news channel, has listed Ba Na Hills in the central coastal city of Da Nang, Sapa in the northern Lao Cai Province, and Da Lat in the Central Highlands province of Lam Dong, all in Viet Nam, among the 10 cooling getaways in Asia to escape the intense heat.

Outstandingly, these 10 ideal destinations were blessed with temperatures dipping below 30 degrees Celsius, even in their warmest months.

The Ba Na Hills, perched at an altitude of 1,489 metres on a mountain, offers a slightly more curated experience. This resort town is located just 35 kilometres from Da Nang's centre and can be easily accessed by bus, private hire, or GrabCar.

Ba Na Hills owes its fame to the iconic Golden Bridge, suspended in the clouds by two colossal stone hands, and an instant social media sensation since its launch in 2018.

The bridge has also been named among the world’s 100 greatest places by the renowned Time magazine of the US. The Guardian daily of the UK also listed this bridge among the world’s most striking pedestrian bridges.

The Ba Na Hills also boasts an exhilarating alpine coaster and an indoor amusement park. With its gothic-inspired architecture and colonial-themed rooms, this self-contained haven is packed with restaurants, bars, and coffee shops, providing a respite from the bustling crowds, according to Channel NewsAsia.

“This family-friendly oasis doesn't stop there - it also boasts an exhilarating alpine coaster and an indoor amusement park. However, for a more intimate experience, couples can retreat to the Mercure Danang French Village Bana Hills. With its gothic-inspired architecture and colonial-themed rooms, this self-contained haven is packed with restaurants, bars, and coffee shops, providing a respite from the bustling crowds”, the Singaporean magazine highly recommended.

Temperatures in July on Ba Na Hills range from 17 to 26 degrees Celsius.

The three Vietnamese destinations have continually been honoured by the foreign media recently, helping popularise the country as a beautiful, hospitable, and attractive destination for international visitors.
