The Da Nang government has issued a plan to develop the information technology (IT) industry in Da Nang until 2030.

Specifically, the city sets a goal of focusing on developing the digital economy to account for at least 20% of the city’s GRDP, in which the information and communication technology (ICT) industry will make up for at least 10% of the city's GRDP by 2025, the digital economy will account for at least 30% of the city's GRDP and the IT industry will make a proportion of at least 15% in the city’s GRDP by 2030.

In parallel with that, the city will continue to support startups and establish tech firms, bringing the number of industrial enterprises to 3 enterprises/1,000 people.

By 2030, there will be at least 8,950 digital technology enterprises and 115,000 digital technology workers. The average annual growth rate of revenue of the IT industry in the 2021 - 2030 period will reach 10% whilst the annual growth rate of software export revenue in the 2021 - 2030 period will reach 12%. 

Besides, the city will strive to have at least 7 IT parks and software parks by 2030, form a second coastal fiber optic cable station to ensure infrastructure for businesses investing in international connection of marine fiber optic cables and ensure the provision of in-depth computing and storage infrastructure to deploy core applications related to Industry 4.0 with at least 5 data centres, with a scale of over 500 racks by 2030.
