Da Nang, RoK promote partnership on AI

A seminar entitled ‘Viet Nam - South Korea Artificial Intelligence 2023’ took place in Da Nang on Thursday.

The event was jointly organised by the Da Nang Investment Promotion and Support Board, the Viet Nam Innovation Network in South Korea, the Overall Assistance for Start-up Immigration System (OASIS), the Korean Artificial Intelligence Association (KORAIA), and some related agencies.

The intention of the event was to connect the city and its partners in the field of artificial intelligence (AI) with the desire to promote the city's potential, advantages, investment opportunities and preferential policies to information technology (IT) and AI businesses.

At the same time, it provided the good opportunity for relevant agencies, organisations, businesses and schools in Da Nang and their partners in the field of AI in South Korea to promote the application of AI in production and business.

In his remarks at the event, municipal People's Committee Vice Chairman Ho Ky Minh highlighted that the seminar aimed to promote investment attraction and AI development in the city, as well as to build Da Nang into one of AI research, development and application centres in Central Viet Nam and the country as a whole.

This was also an opportunity for organisations and businesses based in Da Nang and partners in the field of AI in South Korea to meet, connect, cooperate, promote commercialization, and attract investment in these projects on boosting AI application in the fields of healthcare and smart cities in the city, he added.

Mr. Minh revealed that the city boasted strengths and already prepared conditions in terms of human resources, infrastructure and preferential policies to welcome businesses and investors in the field of IT industry in general and AI in particular.

Da Nang is trying to build a favourable environment, and encouraging businesses and investors in the fields of IT and AI to deploy projects in the city.

In addition, the city is very interested in building a human resources team that ensures quantity and quality to serve the needs of developing the IT and AI industries.

The city has issued a plan to develop IT human resources to serve digital transformation until 2025 with many drastic solutions to serve development goals.

Within the framework of the seminar, the units signed a number of AI cooperation agreements.

Specifically, the Viet Nam - Korea Artificial Intelligence Center, and the Korean Artificial Intelligence Association, will build a global AI ecosystem.

Meanwhile, the Da Nang-based 199 Hospital under Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security will cooperate with the Cheonan Hospital Research Center under the Soon Chun Hyang University Hospital to build a global medical and healthcare system applying AI.

Additionally, an AI ecosystem will be developed under the cooperation between the Viet Nam - Korea Artificial Intelligence Center and S-LAB (a member of the Viet Nam Innovation Center).

Besides, heed will be on building an AI ecosystem for the field of healthcare and public health, including tuberculosis, under the cooperation between the Viet Nam - Korea Artificial Intelligence Center and the Cheonan Hospital Research Center under the Soon Chun Hyang University Hospital, Otom Ltd, Jayroun Soft Corp., Onycom Inc., and Polaris Consulting Group LLC.

Moreover, the Viet Nam - Korea Artificial Intelligence Center will work with the  Cheonan Hospital Research Center under under the Soon Chun Hyang University Hospital and other units to construct an AI ecosystem.
