3 wharves at Tien Sa Port allowed to receive container ships
Following recent approval from the Ministry of Transport, wharves Nos. 1, 2 and 3 at Da Nang’s Tien Sa Port are allowed to receive container ships

Specifically, wharf No. 1 is permitted to receive container ships with a capacity of up to 20,000 tonnes in the upstream area, and those with a capacity of up to 45,000 tonnes in the offload downstream area.
Meanwhile, wharf No. 2 will be capable to receive container ships with a capacity of up to 30,000 tonnes in the upstream area and up to 20,000 tonnes to reduce the external load in the offload downstream area.
The wharf No. 3 will receive container ships with a capacity of up to 50,000 tonnes to reduce the external load.
According to Prime Minister-adopted Decision No. 1579 dated September 22, 2021 regarding the master plan for Viet Nam's seaport system during the 2021-2030 period, with a vision towards 2050, the Tien Sa Port includes wharves for 4,000TEU (twenty-foot equivalent units) container ships, general ships, 50,000-ton bulk cargo ships, and 225,000 GT international cruise ships.
Therefore, the Ministry of Transport asks authorities in Da Nang to direct relevant agencies to coordinate closely with the Viet Nam Maritime Administration to guide and supervise the Da Nang Port JSC in implementing the next steps in accordance with seaport planning in comply with legal regulations, and to ensure maritime safety, fire prevention and environmental protection.
