Specific planning of functional areas in Da Nang
Under the Prime Minister-issued Decision No. 1287 dated November 2, 2023 regarding the approval of Da Nang master planning for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision to 2050, many functional subdivisions and industrial parks (IPs), hi-tech parks and tourist areas will be formed in the near future.

Industrial and high-tech parks to be developed
According to the plan, a number of functional areas, such as IPs, high-tech parks, information technology parks and industrial clusters, will be developed. Also, the focus will be on turning the Da Nang IP into the An Don International Financial Quarter, forming a modern urban area, and converting the Hoa Khanh IP into the Eco-industrial Park.
At the same, the Hoa Cam at phase 2, Hoa Nhon and Hoa Ninh IPs will be built.
Top priority will be given to attracting investment in IPs in the direction of intensive industry, forming industrial clusters with existing industrial zones, and constructing the Hoa Cam IP phase 2 and Hoa Ninh IP to meet industrial infrastructure needs.
In addition, relevant agencies will conduct research about additional planning for the Hoa Vang IP to arrange relocation of industrial projects in the Lien Chieu IP in case of conversion to develop logistics services in service of the Lien Chieu Port project.
Meanwhile, efforts will be made to soon put the functional areas of the High-Tech Park into operation before 2025; as well as adjust and expand the High-Tech Park in order to make it become an international-class creative - science - technology urban area.
On the other hand, heed will be on connecting the High-Tech Park and industrial parks and clusters to form satellite industrial parks and clusters, as well as soon completing investment procedures, and building the Software Park No. 2 at the first stage.
The city will also concentrate on perfecting the Centralised Information Technology Park, Creative Space in Hoa Xuan Ward, DanangBay Information Technology Park, Viettel Da Nang Building, and Automatic Sorting and Warehouse Centre.
With regard to the planning of existing industrial clusters and craft villages, the land use purpose of the expanded Thanh Vinh Industrial Cluster will be transferred to develop other fields.
The raw production activities at the Non Nuoc Stone Carving Village will be implemented at appropriate industrial zones and clusters, whilst technical infrastructure at the Hoa Son Split Stone Craft Village will be developed.
Besides, several new industrial clusters will be built and put into operation, such as Cam Le, Hoa Nhon, and Hoa Khanh Nam.
Importance will be attached to taking the Supporting Industrial Park project serving the Da Nang Hi-tech Park out of the planning of industrial parks nationwide in a bid to form the Hoa Lien Industrial Cluster near the High-Tech Park.
The Son Tra Industrial Cluster, and some new industrial clusters in Hoa Vang and Lien Chieu districts, will be developed. Production facilities causing environmental pollution will be relocated out of residential areas.
Moreover, a number of industrial clusters with suitable areas will be developed at closed mineral mines in the city.

Enhancing tourism, research and training quality
The city’s aforementioned planning programme mentions the development of various types of tourist accommodation establishments suitable to the characteristics of each tourist space, including the orientation of developing high-class, creative, unique, and environmentally friendly ones.
Specifically, the Son Tra Peninsula, along with the Ba Na - Suoi Mo tourist urban area will be turned into world-class tourist areas. Cultural, historical, modern, unique, and creative tourist attractions will be developed.
Additionally, planning infrastructure will be carried out to serve sightseeing and marine tourism routes associated with Hoang Sa Island tourist destination.
Additional investment will be poured into improving infrastructure to turn the city center into an attractive tourist destination, and developing inland waterway tourism.
Attention will be paid to developing community and ecological tourism models in mountainous areas of Hoa Vang and Lien Chieu districts, forming the Da Nang University Urban Area in Ngu Hanh Son District, and constructing vocational training facilities and specialised research institutes for the Da Nang High-Tech Subzone for sake of providing high-quality human resources and specialised workers for potential fields of high-tech industry, tourism, seaports, logistics, microelectronics, nanotechnology, semiconductors, microchips, artificial intelligence, banking and finance, healthcare, and education.
