The event attracted board of directors, managers and representatives of tourism businesses, cruise ships, tourist attractions, accommodation establishments and service providers across the city.

During the seminar, the participants had the opportunity to better understand some popular and effective online sales channels today in the field of tourism and services.

Additionally, they were shared with general information and concepts about Travel Agency (TA) and Online Travel Agent (OTA), as well as were instructed to develop the TA network and expand OTA channels, and about basic operations and techniques of online travel service platforms such as KKday and Klook.

At the same time, the attendees updated new sales trends that suit the tastes of tourists in the 4.0 digital era. Meanwhile, tourism service providers and tourism communities ensured codes of conduct and professional standards in the digital environment.

According to Deputy Director of the municipal Department of Tourism Tan Van Vuong, solo travel is a growing trend, accounting for 70-80% of the total. Most of solo travellers book services such as hotels, airline tickets, transportation rentals, sightseeing tickets, food vouchers and short tours through OTA online travel agency channels like Booking, Agoda and Traveloka, and online service delivery platforms Klook and KKday.

Therefore, businesses must know how to combine many different sales methods in business activities and choose online sales channels to increase business efficiency, thereby contributing to promoting brands and bringing them closer to customers.

Through the programme, the department encouraged city-based tourism businesses and service providers to boost digital transformation and the application of information technology, and actively promote online sales channels, in a bid to attract more customers, greatly contributing to increasing business efficiency and competitiveness with other destinations as well.

The department will continue promoting communication and advertising, and supporting local tourism businesses to introduce products and access domestic and foreign tourist markets, Mr. Tan Van Vuong emphasised.
