The Da Nang Department of Industry and Trade, on Tuesday, held a meeting to review the programme to support a consulting project on developing smart factories in Da Nang, and other cities and provinces in Central Viet Nam, in 2023.

Under the project, two local businesses provided by Samsung with consulting support and improvement solutions towards smart factories are the Trung Nam Electronics Manufacturing Services JSC (Trungnam EMS) at the Da Nang Hi-tech Park, Hoa Vang District, and the Tan Long Paper Packaging Co., Ltd. at the Hoa Khanh Industrial Park, Lien Chieu District.

The project's support process featured 3 activities in 12 weeks: selecting a supporting enterprise; and consulting support for smart factory development and future management.

Based on Samsung Group's 5-point scale, the point for the colour box production line of the Tan Long Packaging Co., Ltd. increased from 0.9 to 2.8, achieving the project's planned target. Meanwhile, the point for the Trungnam EMS Company's smart factory construction went up to 1.6 from 1.

This project is carried out on the basis of a Memorandum of Understanding signed on September 12, 2023 between the Da Nang Department of Industry and Trade, the Department of Industry under Ministry of Industry and Trade, and Samsung Electronics Vietnam Company Limited.

The project aims to improve the capacity of domestic businesses operating in Da Nang through consulting on setting up smart factories and fostering high-quality human resources for businesses, helping Vietnamese companies meet their domestic needs, and increase competitiveness in the global value chain.
