Da Nang's information and communications sector expects to earn VND 36,571 billion in revenue in 2024
The Da Nang Department of Information and Communications held a meeting on Tuesday to summarise its activities in 2023 and identify tasks for 2024.

In 2023, the city’s Information and Communications industry earned an estimate of VND36,571 billion, an increase of 8.1% against 2022.
The city’s software export turnover reached US$147.8 million, reaching 101.25% of the plan, up 12% compared to 2022. The scale of added value of the entire industry at current prices in 2023 is estimated to reach VND9,841 billion, expanding by more than VND768 billion against 2022, accounting for 7.33% of the city’s gross regional domestic product (GRDP).
The growth rate of added value of the entire industry at 2010 constant prices is estimated to reach 4.86% compared to 2022, contributing 0.57 percentage points to the increase in the city’s GRDP.
Last year, the city made progress in implementing digital transformation in all pillars and follow the theme of unlocking resources, attracting investment, maintaining economic growth and ensuring social welfare.

Specifically, Da Nang led the Information Technology Application and Development Readiness Index (Viet Nam ICT Index) for 13 consecutive years, and topped the Digital Transformation Index (DTI) rankings for 4 consecutive years. It was honoured for its initiative in implementing the 4.0 industrial revolution and digital transformation.
At the same time, the city won prestigious domestic and international awards for smart cities and digital transformation. In particular, it was awarded the Seoul Smart City Prize, and the Viet Nam Smart City Award.
In 2024, the city’s information and communications industry strives to achieve an increase of 8.9% in revenue. Meanwhile, the software export revenue is expected to hit US$161.8 million.
The city will continue to effectively implement a project to build Da Nang into a smarter city for the 2018-2025 period, with a vision towards 2030, and the digital Transformation project to 2025 with orientation to 2030; as well as promote the development of the semiconductor industry and artificial intelligence (AI).
