Marvell Technology learns about investment environment and opportunities in semiconductor in Da Nang
Da Nang People’s Committee Vice Chairman Ho Ky Minh, on Monday, warmly received a group of visitors from the US-based Marvell Technology Company which visited the city to learn about the investment environment and seek cooperation opportunities in the field of the semiconductor circuit design industry.

According to Vice Chairman Minh, Da Nang identified the semiconductor-microchip industry as its breakthrough growth driver in the coming time. Therefore, the city is on course to prepare the necessary conditions to attract semiconductor businesses to choose Da Nang as a location to expand investment and business in Viet Nam. In particular, the city will coordinate to organise human resource training classes in this field.
The city leader expressed his desire that the Marvell Company will clearly determine the input of human resources so that the city can develop suitable training orientations.
Discussing infrastructure, and visa and tax support policies, Mr. Minh said that the relevant authorities will proactively research central policies to support businesses and workers as well when investing in the city.
During the meeting, representatives of the University of Da Nang, and local relevant departments and agencies, shared plans for enrollment and specialised training in semiconductor industry, along with advantages of technology infrastructure, human resources and incentives, in a bid to anticipate investment trends in the field in the coming time.

Recently, the city has organised seminars and oriented solutions to develop human resources to serve the development of the semiconductor industry.
The city joined the State President's working group to work and promote investment in training and developing microchips and artificial intelligence with companies and corporations such as Synopsys, Intel, Nvidia, Marvell, ITSJ-G and Qorvo in San Jose, the USA. Also, the city and the Synopsys Company signed a Memorandum of Understanding on boosting cooperation in the semiconductor industry.
Currently, the city is researching and building a number of mechanisms and policies to promote the development of microchip and semiconductor human resources with a focus on 3 subjects of lecturers, graduated engineers and students, aiming to provide skilled human resources that meet international standards of large enterprises.
The municipal People's Committee has issued a policy of implementing a project to develop semiconductor chips and microchips in the city. In addition, two teams in charge of the project have been set up, whilst the Da Nang Semiconductor and Artificial Intelligence Centre for Research and Training (DSAC) has been established.

Mr. Loi Nguyen, the Global Executive Vice President of the US-based Marvell Company, said that Marvell was very interested in the development of the semiconductor industry in Viet Nam. He added that the company also highly appreciated the development potential of the semiconductor industry in Da Nang.
As one of the world’s leading companies in semiconductor circuit design and providing data infrastructure, the Marvell Technology has been in Viet Nam since 2013.
At present, Marvell Viet Nam currently has two offices in Ho Chi Minh City with about 300 employees. It will continue to expand to 500 employees in the near future. The city's support policies are garnering heightened interest of the company in order for it to soon deploy investment promotion activities in the locality.
On the occasion, the Marvell Company's working group conducted field surveys at the Da Nang High-Tech Park and information technology parks in the city.
