As for the ‘lucky invoice’ programme, the city’s Tax Department organised 6 ‘Lucky invoice’ selection periods in the 2nd, 3rd and 4th quarters of 2022 and the 1st, 2nd and 3rd quarters of 2023 with 111 prizes totalling VND431 million.
The information was released by the municipal Tax Department at the Friday meeting to review its performance in 2023 and identify new tasks for 2024.
Speaking at the meeting, municipal People's Committee Vice Chairman Ho Ky Minh highlighted that the implementation of e-invoices was an important step to transform the way of serving people and automating management methods to reform administrative procedures. This, thereby, created a healthy and equitable business environment, and increased operational productivity and efficiency of businesses, thereby contributing to the growth of State budget revenue.
The city leader, however, pointed out some problems arising during the implementation of e-invoices.
He, therefore, asked the tax sector to work with relevant sectors to roll out appropriate and effective solutions to closely monitor, strengthen inspection, and check the issuance and use of e-invoices, especially at petroleum retailers.
Tax authorities at all levels should actively coordinate with the police to prevent the act of buying and selling illegal invoices for personal gain; as well as timely identify new forms of fraud regarding e-invoices in general, and in petroleum business activities in particular for the purpose of gaining illegal profits or appropriating state tax money, he added.
The municipal Tax Department is urged to coordinate with media agencies to raise awareness about the use of e-invoices, helping local citizens and businesses clearly understand the benefits, responsibilities, and effectiveness of using them.
