Da Nang welcomes over 402,000 tourist arrivals during Tet

According to the Da Nang Department of Tourism, the city welcomed a total of 402,000 visitors during the Tet holiday 2024, a rise of 37% over the same period last year. Nearly 177,000 of them were foreigners. The city's tourism industry earned an estimate of VND1,580 billion in revenue.

During the 7-day Tet holiday break from February 8 - 14, Da Nang welcomed a total of 777 domestic and international flights, with an average of 111 flights to the city every day, including 58 domestic and 53 international flights.

In addition, three cruise ships, carrying a total of 3,400 international guests, berthed at the Tien Sa Port during that period. The cruise ship passengers were taken to visit some of popular tourist attractions such as the Marble Mountains, the Linh Ung Pagoda, and the Museum of Cham Sculpture.

Notably, the number of people and tourists experiencing sightseeing boat tours on the Han River increased by 50% against 2023 to reach 21,680.

According to leaders of the municipal Department of Tourism, on the occasion, visitors to Da Nang were mainly individual tourists, accounting for about 60-70%. Guests were recorded staying at 4-5 star seaside hotels.

Meanwhile, the city witnessed a significant increase in the number of tourists travelling on tours during the Tet holiday due to the long Tet break. Domestic tourists mainly came from Ha Noi, Ho Chi Minh City and neighbouring central provinces such as Quang Nam, Thua Thien Hue and Quang Ngai. International visitors were mainly from South Korea, Taiwan (China), Japan, India, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Australia and the USA.

Some tourist destinations citywide received a large number of visitors on the occasion.

In particular, the Sun World Ba Na Hills Tourist Area welcomed more than 82,000 visitors; Asia Park nearly 35,000; the Marble Mountains around 40,000; and the Son Tra Peninsula over 70,000.

Nearly 11,000 visitors visited the Mikazuki Water Park , doubling the figure recorded in the same period last year, whilst the Nui Than Tai hot spring park received nearly 8,000 visitors, an increase of 44% against 2023.
