Plan to pilot Bach Dang walking street announced
The Hai Chau District authorities held a meeting in Da Nang on Sunday to announce a plan to pilot the extended Bach Dang walking street, and review the implementation of a project to develop enterprises across the district during the 2020-2023 period.

Under the plan, the much-awaited pedestrian street project is expected to be located on the extended Bach Dang Street, exactly the section from the approaching roads to the Tran Thi Ly Street to the end of the APEC Sculpture Park with a length of 1.2km, connecting with Nguyen Van Troi pedestrian bridge.
The operating time is expected to be between 3:00 pm and midnight every day, from late April 2024 - late 2028.
One lane on the east side of the Bach Dang Street will be earmarked to arrange 5 clusters of mobile sales vehicles (each cluster with 3 vehicles) and 3 clusters of mobile sales kiosks (each cluster with 4 kiosks).

In addition, there will be 5 check-in points, 2 public restrooms, a community space, stone benches on the sidewalk, landscape and recycling bins, free wifi stations, 4 security camera clusters, decorative lights and trees.
A number of activities will be piloted along this pedestrian street such as leisure walking, entertainment activities, and art performances and high quality tourism services that target both city dwellers and tourists.
Speaking at the meeting to review the implementation of the Enterprise Development project in Hai Chau District for the 2020-2023 period, Chairman of Hai Chau District People's Committee Le Tu Gia Thanh affirmed that the policy of supporting and developing businesses was always identified by the district as one of the key annual tasks.
He added that the district has proactively rolled out many solutions to support local businesses such as projects to develop the nighttime economy in the district; pilot Bach Dang pedestrian street; build model road Le Hong Phong; upgrade specialised trading streets on Le Thanh Nghi and Huynh Thuc Khang streets; replicate non-cash payment routes, and support the development and promotion of OCOP products.
Also, the district has focused on perfecting technical infrastructure; ensuring the effective management and operation of APEC Sculpture Park; and building more parks and walking gardens.
The district will continue to support and accompany the business community to develop in the healthy and sustainable manner, positively contributing to the local economic and social development.
