Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha has just signed a decision approving the investment policy of the North-South Expressway expansion project for the 65km section of La Son - Hoa Lien from two lanes to four lanes.

The starting point of the project is at Km0, connecting to the end point of the Cam Lo - La Son expressway located in La Son Town, Phu Loc District, Thua Thien Hue Province. The ending point of the project is at about Km66, at the Hoa Lien intersection connecting with the starting point of Hoa Lien - Tuy Loan route located in Hoa Lien Commune, Hoa Vang District, Da Nang.

Total project investment is about VND3,011 billion funded by the state budget. The project is expected to be completed in 2025.

After the La Son - Hoa Lien Expressway is expanded to four lanes, it will join the Cam Lo - La Son and the Da Nang - Quang Ngai expressways to improve the region’s socio-economic development.

The Ministry of Transport is the project's manager. The unit will take full responsibility before the Prime Minister for the proposal to approve the project investment policy, and information and data in the project’s pre-feasibility study report.

People's Committees of Thua Thien Hue and Da Nang will be in charge of organising construction and carrying out site clearance and resettlement work; as well as changing the land use purpose (if any) in accordance with documents approved by competent authorities on scale, area, location and progress of the project.
