Diversity of activities

Along with the tourism stimulus programmes announced at the end of March, one of the activities prepared by the Da Nang tourism industry for this summer is the programme ‘Opening the beach tourism season’ 2024 themed ‘Summer Wave’, scheduled to take place from April 26 to May 1. This is an event organised annually by the Management Board of Son Tra Peninsula and Da Nang Tourist Beaches at the Bien Dong (East Sea) Park, Son Tra Peninsula, My An, My Khe, T18 and Nguyen Tat Thanh Beaches.

Over the past years, the programme has become a cultural, sports and tourism event with many rich and attractive activities, attracting a large number of Da Nang dwellers and tourists for sightseeing and enjoyment on the Son Tra Peninsula and tourist beaches.

Visitors can register for experience right at the beach or participate in discovery tours around the Son Tra peninsula.

Specifically, at the My An beach area, an art programme will take place at the outdoor event stage, the screening of movies on the occasion of April 30 and May 1, the display of various types of cuisine, street art performances at the My An pedestrian street, along with services such as mobile fast food, soft drinks, courts, massage therapy, lighting decorations and beach art installations.

Ensuring safety for residents and visitors

One of the highly-anticipated events in the series of activities of the 2024 Beach Tourism Season is the 2024 Da Nang International Rescue Contest with the participation of staff from rescue teams from resorts and hotels, along with volunteer teams from coastal localities such as Hoi An (Quang Nam), Nha Trang, Thua Thien - Hue, Ba Ria - Vung Tau, Tuy Hoa (Phu Yen), Dong Hoi (Quang Binh), Da Nang, and other foreign countries such as Australia, Myanmar, Malaysia, Philippines and Singapore.

The programme to kick off the 2024 Da Nang Beach Tourism Season is considered by tourism professionals to be an activity that contributes to increasing tourist experiences this summer. According to Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Anh, the Director of Omega Tourism Service Trading Company Limited, Da Nang beaches have always been venues attracting both domestic and international tourists, and the amenities along the beaches are increasingly being renewed.

Teambuilding activities for tourist groups are being professionally organised by many travel businesses right at the beaches. Besides, it is also necessary to increase water sports and recreational activities to diversify the types of fun for tourists.

Along with fun and entertainment activities, to ensure safety for local residents and tourists when swimming, the Management Board has assigned 100% of the rescue force on duty at key beaches, deployed buoys in safe bathing areas, installed more than 100 warning signs of various types such as dangerous areas with rip currents, warnings in bad weather and in areas where there are no rescue forces on duty.

Rescue stations have been upgraded for eye-catching appearance, equipped with additional rescue equipment such as canoes, rescue surfboards and safety limit buoy systems.

The Management Board regularly coordinates with experts from the Australian Rescue Association to organize skills exchange and experience learning classes to foster knowledge and improve professional expertise for local rescue team members and skills for preventing children from drowning. In addition, security and order, environmental sanitation protection, the upgrading of public service facilities and service activities at the beach are also taken into consideration.

According to Deputy Director of the Department of Tourism Tan Van Vuong, to promote Da Nang tourism development, the tourism industry will continue to focus on mobilizing more resources and put products into operation from the summer of 2024, contributing to increasing competitiveness of the city’s tourism industry, improve the effectiveness of tourism promotion and promotion activities to the domestic and nearby international tourist source markets, and especially strengthen inspection and examination so that tourism activities are healthy and in accordance with regulations and guide tourism businesses to ensure safety, service quality aiming for high quality standards.
