Shopping malls, supermarkets in Da Nang crowded during 5-day holiday
Shopping malls, supermarkets and wet markets in Da Nang are hectic during the ongoing holiday for Reunification Day and International Workers’ Day. Many of them have diversified product sources and forms of promotion in an effort to stimulate consumption during the holiday.
During the holiday of April 30 and May 1, the number of customers at wet markets in the city increases sharply |
Bustling shopping atmosphere was recorded at some traditional markets such as Con, Han and Hoa Cuong wholesale markets on Monday morning.
In particular, the Con Market in Hai Chau 2 Ward, Hai Chau District, welcomes a daily average of about 3,000-4,000 visitors.
Mr. Pham Van Binh, Deputy Head of the Con market management board, said that during the holiday, the market received a large number of visitors. However, products on sale at the market are still abundant and prices are reasonable to meet customer needs.
Previously, many small traders at the Con market added a variety of goods and foods to meet increasing shopping and consumption needs during this holiday.
Many international tourists come to traditional markets during this holiday for shopping |
Ms. Huynh Cam Tu, a stall holder selling meat at the Con market, shared that her store has asked the meat supplier to increase the amount of meat by 10-20% because the demand and purchasing power is predicted to go up. Along with that, from April 27 until now, prices of items at the kiosk have remained stable.
Recent days have witnessed a 10-20% increase in the number of tourists at the Han market compared to normal days.
Ms. Bui Thi Hong Ngoc, a confectionery merchant at the Han market, said that since April 26, tourists and people have flocked to her store. Sales at the store increased by 30-50% compared to normal days.
At the Co.opmart Da Nang supermarket system, during the holiday of April 30 and May 1, it welcomes about 7,000 visitors every day.
Local people take advantage of this opportunity to shop and enjoy incentives and discounts at supermarkets. |
Mr. Phan Thong, Director of Co.opmart Da Nang supermarket, informed that the unit has predicted that shopping demand will increase by about 50% compared to normal days, so the supermarket has prepared about 800 tonnes of all kinds of goods, of which mainly are food, consumer products, and essential goods to serve consumers.
At the same time, the supermarket is having some great promotions with discounts up to 50% of product value. Although the number of customers has increased sharply, the supermarket still ensures price stability and food quality for customers.
