Da Nang asked to speed up the process of approving investment policies for Lien Chieu Port
The Ministry of Transport has just sent a document to the Da Nang People's Committee, asking the central coastal city to coordinate with competent agencies to speed up the process of approving investment policies for the Lien Chieu Port project.
The construction of the shared infrastructure of the Lien Chieu Port project is underway |
In addition, the city has been urged to adjust the investment progress of a number of the project’s construction items such as breakwater systems, shipping channels, and approach roads to the port.
The Viet Nam Maritime Administration has been assigned to continue to provide timely support for Da Nang to build shared infrastructure of the Lien Chieu Port project, as well as call for more investment.
According to the Ministry of Transport, the construction of the shared infrastructure of the Lien Chieu Port project is expected to be completed in November 2025.
Up to now, the People's Committee of Da Nang has submitted to the Ministry of Planning and Investment for appraisal of the investment policy of the Lien Chieu Port project.
According to assessments, it will take about 2-3 years to complete the construction of the 2 start-up wharves at the Lien Chieu Port which are earmarked for container ships with a capacity of 100,000 tonnes (8,000 TEU) with a scale of 750m, and put them into operation.
Currently, an investor for the Lien Chieu Port has not been selected, so the two start-up wharves will not be possible to be put into operation by 2025 at the same time as exploiting the shared infrastructure.
