The Da Nang Department of Science and Technology organized an event on Thursday to connect with a delegation of Singaporean innovative startups.

As part of the cooperation programme between the Quest Ventures, a Singaporean investment fund, and the municipal Department of Science and Technology, the event opened up opportunities for the two innovative startup ecosystems of Singapore and Da Nang to enhance their exchange, connection, cooperation and investment promotion.

During the event, representatives of the Quest Ventures, and Singaporean innovative startups, informed about their startup projects, and investment environment for Da Nang businesses.

Meanwhile, the Da Nang Innovation and Startup Centre introduced the city’s startup environment. In particular, Da Nang is identified as one of the three National Innovation and Startup Centres, playing a central role in the Central - Central Highlands region.

The local innovative startup ecosystem develops continuously with the establishment of supporting organisations, incubators, venture capital funds, angel investors and the innovative startup business community.

Over recent years, the municipal government has issued more than 20 policies to support innovative startup activities.

For the time being, the city has 9 incubators, 4 investment funds, 2 creative spaces, 10 co-working spaces, 10 startup clubs, and 3 innovation startup support centres.

At the same time, the city has provided financial support for 18 projects, and incubators, with a total cost of VND4.5 billion to perfect technology.

Da Nang ranked 4^th out of the 63 provinces and cities nationwide according to the "Local Innovation Index" in 2023. It was honoured with the title "An attractive city for innovative startups" in 2020, 2022 and 2023 by the Viet Nam Software and Information Technology Services Association.
